Name : Dr. N. K. Singh

Ph.D. : The University of Adelaide, Australia

Post-doctoral experience : CSIRO Division of Plant Industry and the University of Adelaide, Australia

Designation : Principal Scientist

Research Interests:

We are working on different aspects of structural, functional and comparative genomics with special emphasis on rice, wheat and tomato. Our group is presently working on high through put sequencing of tomato chromosome 5. This sequence information will be used for the identification of agriculturally important genes in tomato. We are mapping genes for yield and quality traits in rice and wheat by using STMS and SNP markers. Besides, we are also working on high resolution mapping of salinity tolerance genes in rice and molecular tagging and map-based cloning of genes for linear kernel elongation in Basmati rice.
