Name : Dr. T. Mohapatra

Ph. D. : IARI, New Delhi

Post-doctoral experience : Clemson University, USA; University of Arizona, USA

Designation : Principal Scientist

Research Interest :

Working in the area of molecular markers and genomics. Developed molecular markers for characterization of the somatic cell hybrids, genome mapping and gene tagging in mustard; constructed the first genome map and identified markers for the white rust resistance gene in mustard; developed DNA fingerprinting technology in several crops including rice, wheat, mustard and sugarcane; contributed to the physical mapping and genome sequencing in rice. Current research interests are positional gene cloning, allele mining and gene pyramiding. Worked as Co-Pl in Rice and Tomato Genome sequencing Project.
