Research Interests:

I am involved in plant structural and functional genomics. Primarily, I have been working on the genome sequencing of rice and tomato. This work-involves creation of physical maps, shotgun libraries, sequencing and post sequence analysis using various computational methods. I also work on study of resistance genes in plants especially mustard, their expression and their distribution in the genome. Other research interests include studies on salt tolerance in rice, molecular basis of cytoplasmic male sterility - fertility restoration and comparative genomics.
