Name : Dr. (Mrs.) Jasdeep Chatrath Padaria

Ph.D. : IARI, New Delhi

Designation : Senior Scientist

Research Interests :

Presently I am working on utilization of microbes through genetic engineering for biotic (disease) management. Microbes, a rich source of novel genes are known to synthesis compounds that control plant pathogens naturally in all agriculture ecosystems. My work focuses on isolation of genes from microbial isolates with the property of antagonism towards phytopathogen and manipulating these genes for better efficacy against target pathogen. Previously, at Central Institute for Subtropical horticulture, Lucknow worked on production and improvement of fruit crops through tissue culture techniques and molecular characterization of mango cultivars.
